Thank you JOMAC

JOMAC Jamboree 6th November 2004

If you haven't heard by now - or were not part of a great party - well ....... it was exactly that - GREAT! Despite an hour delay due to high winds and some rain - the show went on!!

I am currently hunting down some more of the photo's taken on Saturday and
will ask John Godwin to post them on the website. They will tell the story
better than I. Suffice to say that there were many many fantastic Planes.

The problem with THANK YOU's is that someone - usually someone significant - gets left off the thank you list. I apologize way in advance if I forget you - NOT intentional - so here goes in no particular order;

- We were overwhelmed by the number of members who volunteered their time on Saturday - THANK you
- A special thank you to Jack Allen who kept the commentary running - wind, rain and all
- To all the Pilots who did JOMAC proud - especially our young pilots - you certainly got the public's attention
- Howard - our Safety Officer - who kept things safe
- Gary Young - who kept things running smoothly as Contest Director
- Peter Hitchcock who kept the public at bay and
- Colin and Alex who kept us fed
- Steve George ensuring that TX Control was .... controlled
- Oliver for providing us with the 60m crane that kept kids and big kids gobsmacked
- Members on the gate - on the bar - and working as callers
- Andrew Lawson - one of our members and a Doctor who ensured that if anything went wrong we were in good hands - Glad we didn't need you Andrew!! -
- Steve George and Gavin Brown - who wowed the crowds with their flyby's in a Navion and a Harvard - Mary from CAA who kept everything legal
- Skydivers - Charlie for coordinating the event and members who paid over their R20.00 willingly for the lucky plate drop - and Karl Dollenberg from Foster Aero for piloting the plane with the skydivers and Dudley Foster for sponsoring the Cessna
- Eric Frost for the beautiful painting that was auctioned and bought for R1200.00 by Oliver - the Dremmel from Brian O'Donovan - auctioned for R700.00 to Steve George
- Thank you Dudley for playing Auctioneer
- The steering committee - Les - Mick - Ian Buck - Howard - Colin - Peter Hitchcock and Steve George - and the many volunteers from the club
- Charlie, Steve, Mike George, Ben, Stuart, Kevin and company for lighting fireworks and bringing Master's of disaster to our door steps.
- Stuart for ensuring that the lighting worked
- Rui for the fantastic sound system
- Dave from London Models for the Fire Engine
Financially the day was a great success - worth the hard work.

See you all next year!!!
